Hello, my name is Mia McGrory, and I am a qualified History and English teacher with over six years of teaching and tutoring experience.

My experience includes teaching in the classroom, providing one-to-one tuition for both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate students, teaching English to international learners, and delivering tuition through the Home Tuition initiative. This diverse background has allowed me to tailor my teaching methods to meet the individual needs of every student.

My tutoring approach is highly focused on the State Examination marking schemes. Having an in-depth understanding of what examiners are looking for, I teach students how to structure and scaffold their answers to maximise marks. Lessons are centred on developing strong exam techniques, analysing exemplar H1 and Distinction standard answers, and building the skills and confidence needed to succeed in exams.

I teach from a dedicated online classroom in my home, equipped with a whiteboard and a range of high-quality teaching resources to create a focused and engaging learning environment. Students also receive comprehensive notes and resources by email after lessons to reinforce their learning.

Over the years, I have helped many students significantly improve their grades, with numerous students achieving H1s at Leaving Certificate level and Distinctions in the Junior Cycle examinations. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to develop their confidence and enjoyment of History and English.
