Hi, I'm Hugh Carr. I graduated from University College Dublin in 2026 with an undergraduate in Mathematics and English, achieving a 96% GPA (4.017/4.2) in Mathematics and First Class Honors in English, and I'm currently studying an MSc in Actuarial Science at Queen's University Belfast.

I have five years' tutoring experience, totaling over 700 hours, teaching Mathematics, Irish, French and Spanish across Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate, with a 100% success rate of meeting students' target grades. I currently also tutor part-time for a UK agency, teaching GCSE and A-Level Maths, French and Spanish, and University Maths.

My approach to tuition is diagnostic rather than drilling — I focus on identifying the specific root cause behind a student's struggles. One Leaving Certificate Maths student moved from a H6 to a H1 in just four months after I uncovered that a difficulty with manipulating algebraic expressions was quietly undermining their performance across every area of maths, not just algebra itself.

In my own Leaving Certificate, I achieved 6 H1 grades, including 100% in Biology, 99% in Spanish, 97% in French and 95% in Irish.

I attended a Gaelscoil from age 4 to 18, and have spent a combined total of a year living and working in Spain and France, giving me genuine fluency and cultural immersion in Irish, Spanish and French that I bring directly into my language tuition.

My hourly rate is €35.
