My name is Emma Byrne. Since completing the PGDE, I have been teaching French at second level,both Junior and Senior Cycle, for over 15 years.
When teaching, I always strive to incorporate the four main skills of acquiring a language; reading,writing,listening and speaking.
In private tuition,I always have a discussion with students to establish what areas they feel they need the most improvement in. I will then tailor the grind to these needs while keeping in mind both the curriculum and exam requirements.
In the past, I have helped many Leaving Cert students prepare for the exam, in particular for the Oral Exam.
I lived in France for two years (for my Erasmus and then for a year teaching).
I also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Additional Needs.
I really enjoy teaching and love the French language.
